Don’t fall off the treadmill!
Treadmills are generally easy to use and as long as you stay focused you shouldn’t have any problems. Here are a few tips you should keep in mind to be safe:
Start slowly
A lot of trips on treadmills happen during getting onto the treadmill. Most treadmills will always start with a slow speed, but nonetheless be wary when getting onto one.
Look straight ahead
While walking we have a tendency of moving into the direction we’re looking. As this is perfectly natural when walking down the sidewalk, it is the leading step to falling off a treadmill. Be careful to not get distracted by people trying to talk to you or unexpectedly calling you.
Don’t read on the treadmill
Doing extensive workouts on a treadmill can be boring to many. Reading is not the safest way of keeping yourself occupied though. While reading it’s much easier to lose your balance!
Don’t be too tough on yourself
If at any time on the treadmill you start feeling dizzy or simply too tired, stop the exercise and have a rest.
